PPA Fourth Foundation Day Program

The 5th Foundation Day Program of the Polymer Processing Academy (PPA), held on the 14th of March 2016 was conducted at the prestigious Satish Dhawan auditorium at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore. The event co-hosted by STEER and IISc, was presided over by Dr. K. Kasturirangan, Chancellor, Jawaharlal Nehru University. The Foundation Day saw over 180 participants including aspiring students, academia and the industry with participation from companies like Reliance, Coca Cola, Bosch, Sidel, St. Johns Research Institute, Dr. Reddy's, Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP) and Milacron to name a few. Participants had the privilege of listening to Dr. Kasturirangan as he took them on a journey of his days at ISRO, while drawing parallels as to how the Indian Space Programme was greatly benefitted by polymer science. The Foundation Day lecture was delivered by Mr. B. V. R Reddy, Executive Chairman, Cyient, Chairman, Nasscom and Chairman of the Board of Governors, IIT Hyderabad who chose to leave the audience with a glimpse into the future with an engaging presentation on 3D printing. The 5th Foundation Day program also saw Dr. Kasturirangan and Mr. Mohan Reddy conferred with the prestigious Honorary Fellowship to the PPA by Professor Ashok Misra.
